I think often times that I would like to be one of those people that makes some kind of world contribution, no matter how small or great the gesture is…For you individually–what is it that you could do to participate in changing the world for the better?? For example:
- Individuals that are trying to find the cure for cancer, and other life-threatening diseases.
- Individuals that are computer-genuises, that work to modernize technology
-People that are volunteers for non-profit organizations
-People that speak out against discrimination, and strive to create equality for ALL men women alike…For example: Martin Luther King Jr. John F. Kennedy.
- Forensic scientists that work to solve crimes, bringing criminals to justice, and freeing innocent and wrongly convicted individuals…
-Musicians that bring joy with their music
- Individuals such as Mother Theresa Mahatma Ghandi
*What efforts could you imagine doing to help change this world? Thanks for your input!!

Are Barack Obama and Chuck Berry , one and the same people?
Filed Under Women in Music | 19 Comments
No one to the best of my knowledge has ever seen the two men together on the same stage. And, I wonder why Ellen DeGeneris never asked Barack Obama to perform Johnny B. Goode on her show? The last thing America needs, is another musician in the White House, who has a proclivity towards underage women.
Chuck Berry is 81 years old. And while no one has convinced me otherwise, I will be satisfied if Mr. Berry is invited to perform at Barack Obama’s election party.

Are they any other black women out there that are tired of getting stereotyped (good or bad)?
Filed Under Women in Music | 7 Comments
I usually get more negative criticism from my own people if I don’t fit the stereotype of how they want me to act. For example, I happen to like Elton John’s music. I think he’s a talented musician, and all of a sudden I’m denying my blackness they tell me. I also like Ludacris, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, and Motown hits. What is the big deal? It’s like you have to fit the stereotype or you just don’t cut it. To be honest, I’m not big into rap and there are a lot of black artists I’ve never even heard of, but I guarantee you one thing I know my history and I could tell you more about Medgar Evers or Marion Anderson that a lot of people could. I’m tired of having to pretend for black men certain things I like when I don’t, b/c I’m afraid of criticism. I’ve been there too many times before. Then you have some white people(NOT ALL) that think all black women can sing. I get a lot of white guys that think that about me. I can’t even carry a tune. This is one crazy society.
I completely did not mean to post this question under this topic. That’s strange that they did. It doesn’t really fit though.

My husband of 14 years has been having sexual thoughts about other women. Am I wrong to be upset?
Filed Under Women in Music | 11 Comments
My husband has been a musician for years but joined a band about a year ago. This is not something that he has experienced before. He has grown out his hair and now has a ‘bad boy/rocker’ image which I find very attractive. I am 36 and he is 42. We have had trouble on and off throughout our marriage and have separted a couple of times. The trouble always comes back to his desire for other women. I am very attractive, built well and extremely supportive of his music. I am a more than adequate partner in the bedroom. His friends all adore me and I do my best to support the band however I can. I have only missed one show. We have five children between us but three of them are grown and on there own. All of this and he is constantly tearing me down with his comments about how he could have this gal or that gal. Or how he thinks that almost all women are sexually attractive to him. Tonight he was having trouble sleeping so I randomly asked him what the first thing he thought of when I said ‘peanut butter’ he started laughing and said that he thinks he has a problem. When I asked again he said he immediately thought of an older dark haired lady at yesterdays show that he thought was hot. He is now sleeping in the guest room. Am I wrong to be hurt by his blatant stupidity? I know that what he has is great but am tired of feeling like I am just not enough for him. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I think loving him is slowly killing me!

Throughout my life I have struggled with this problem. I am a somewhat average looking guy. But I’m a little too smart for my own good, and I’m a talented musician. I’m good at being rational, but also good at being irrational. I think it would probably be easier for someone who is great looking with a relationship partner to have opposite *** friendships with people who they would normally be attracted to… How do I as a single guy have friendships with attractive women without automatically thinking of them as dating prospects…. ESPECIALLY those who are already taken.

Lets be honest, when we meet new people certain jobs these people hold might generate more interest in the person. Like a girl who is a cashier isn’t as impressive as a girl who trains dolphins or something. I know personality counts the most, but lets set that aside.
out of these jobs which would interest you the most:
Fireman
Lawyer
Accountant
Police officer
CIA/FBI type job
Doctor
Entrepreneur
Artist/Musician/Actor
Pick one or rank them please. I’m just curious, my friend and I had a disagreement about which kind of job really can get women. He said one, and I said a different one. I just threw in some random jobs to mix it up.
Maybe rank top 3
Thanks for the answers. Very interesting. Really didn’t go exactly the way I was expecting, but I think my pick just edged his out.
