Normally I try to avoid the celebrity trainwreck, but on the news, it seems that almost every day, there is some sensationalist story about how yet another female actress or musician has gone off the rails.

It is certainly in the media remit to cover what is happening in the world, and for better or worse that now includes celebrity, yet it does seem to me that the manner in which the press targets women is far more hurtful and insipid than the way it deals with male celebrities.

Appearance (is she anorexic, is she showing cellulite, is she pregnant)
Relationship status (does she have a new boyfriend, what about the old one)
Drug addiction (is she using/clean/in rehab/at risk)

the list trails goes on.

Does the media target women in a more malicious and invasive way than it targets men?

Does it delight in Bringing Down Women?

Has another writer explored the viewpoint of Mayella in To Kill A Mockingbird? Rather than a false accusation of rape, what about the violence of a father towards a daughter. Racism between Caucasians and Africans is there, but it exists even between different groups in Asia. Women are treated poorly in many cultures.
A: Actually, that’s a very good idea indeed. Many authors have taken over characters from other stories and incorporated them into a whole new storyline. Musician from Bridgeport CT wrote a song…Daughters - about this. Book of Job even ends with with father having to treat the daughters as equals with the sons/brothers. Interesting…
First two have some appropriate analysis, but what about the character Mayella doing something new in a modern update/revision (it is a book-movie)?
Since New Haven and Bridgeport (and Waterbury) will be participating in the Big Read with this book, perhaps we can make a cool tourst event using the map and audio file tour at http://www.yale.edu/visitor/mp3tour.html Just a crazy idea right?
20 cities all ove the US will be discussing and reading this book in Mark and April of 2007. This is sponsored by the NEA www.neabigread.org

so, im 32 years old, im a little over weight but i can look at women and say ‘im cute arent i’ and they will smile and bat thier eyes and say ‘you are adorable.’ i have been told by almost every woman i have been with that im an amazing f**k because of my level of passion and stamina. i am a working musician. i drive a decent car. my problem is talking to women, i just freeze up and get real down on myself. i start running through my list of flaws. i recently lost 85 lbs so i have some stretched skin on my belly and i have fibromyalgia. i remember that money has been an issue in every relationship i have been in. i have massive nerve damage which makes it really hard to work. im really only good for cooking and a f**k. im really into women who are really into me enough to approach me. i like to know that the person im with actually wants me. i feel like if i walk to a woman i might get a half hearted response or a rejection or a phone number that rings with no answer.

With this kind of music and self-presentation, women musicians are claiming a space in the culture for an embodied feminism that presses the edge of academic feminist theory.

whats another way to say that? i cant copy it word for word.

In general, I find it easier to talk to women than men. There are so many weird guys on the Internet. I would say that I think there are more weird males on the Internet than females. Most of my male friends on the Internet are musicians. I play the guitar. Other than that, most of the people I have met on line are female. My contact list is like 99 percent female and 1 percent male that are musicians like myself. Are their any men out there that have the same situation? Am I just being weird?
I haven’t gone on any singles chatrooms. I have met some females on Yahoo that seem nice. I have no idea what they look like. Maybe they are *** guys in disguise. Who knows.
My Avatar Network is about 95% female. Out of the 5% males on my list most are musicians. What does that say about me?
